The goal of CHIP’s Social Club is to connect with each other and break the isolation that people who are hard of hearing sometimes experience. Members benefit from the new friendships they make, the new things they learn, the new adventures they have, and the great sense of support and belonging they experience.

Hearing loss is a common sensory impairment, affecting more than 30% of Canadians over the age of 65 (Statistics Canada, 2015). In order to provide the social contact that seniors with hearing loss need, social support groups are important in helping to reduce the possibility of feeling isolated and depressed.
Members participate in several activities in the Fall and Spring. We go on outings to interesting places in and around Montreal, such as apple picking in the fall, and a sugar shack visit and feast in the spring. We also have great discussions and information sessions with guest speakers, participate in creative art activities, share wonderful food with each other during our summer barbecue and winter potluck lunch, and generally have a wonderful time.
CHIP’s Social Club is open to members of every age and hearing ability as well as their loved ones, so come and join us!
